Today myself and Victoria have decided to change our documentary subject to Hypnosis. It seems as though whoever has a phobia or an anxiety wouldn't want to admit they do - so we've had a lot of trouble trying to get a patient willing to be our main focus. When trying to email participants to be involved with the phobia documentary we also e-mailed some hypnotherapists with the idea that the patient would try out hypnotism as a cure for their phobia. After researching into hypnotherapy we decided that is extremely interesting and controversial method of trying to cure a patient.
We have already e-mailed two hypnotherapists who is interested in being a part of our film and are willing to be interviewed. We have also contacted a comedy hypnotherapist who we have asked if we can film at one of their events to see how hypnotherapy really affects a person or group.
I have already formed a simple structure for the documentary to follow which is:
1. This documentary is about hypnotherapy
2. What is hypnotherapy?
3. How it began
4. What it is used for such as weight loss, quitting smoking ect.
5. The pros - someone who's had a positive experience
6. The cons - someone who's had it and it hasn't worked
7. A demonstration - how to hypnotise someone or yourself
8. The conclusion - does hypnotherapy really work or is it just the "placebo'' effect. By being told your better makes you think you're better/cured.
This is a major set back - but I think we have learned from this experience - unless you are positive you have found someone that is willing to be filmed about such a touchy subject, don't put all your eggs in one basket.
