Sound Design Unit: My Final Idea
I have been stuck on an idea for this project for quite a while, until now. My idea is simple yet I think I can really play on the sounds. My story starts with someone coming home from a bad day at work, and just wanting to unwind and relax.. so she starts running a bath but discovers no hot water. So she wanders to the wine fridge/cupboard and gets a bottle of wine out, she then pours out a glass and the characters cat jumps up on the table and knocks the bottle of wine over and it smashes on the floor. By then the character is very frustrated. Feeling that she is not able to unwind without a glass of wine she decides to make a trip to the shop to buy a bottle of wine, to discover she has barely any money so scrambles around for change. She grabs her keys and gets in the car to go to the shops for the wine to discover the shop she has travelled to is in fact closed.. so she gets back into her car and then for a while her car does not start. After a frustrated series of events, she finally gets the bottle of wine and relaxes in front of the tv. I struggled very much on coming up with a final idea for this project, unlike "The Meeting" though now I have this firm idea in my head I feel that I can really play on the sounds of glass smashing, when she discovers the bath cold the sound of ice cracking, the rustling for change, the banging of doors, the rustling of keys and more. This idea I feel is simple yet effective and I plan to take my pictures Friday, Saturday and Sunday. My project shall be called - "The Journey to Frustration".
