Production Concept: Research - Same Smile

Today I watched an episode on commissioned on Cbeebies called Same Smile - which follows a woman and three toy bears go to different nursery schools and the bears act as 3 different characters. Out of all the children 2 are picked and 2 of the bears go off and do different activities with the children. 1 bear stays behind in the classroom and does different exercises with the main woman character such as painting or playing instruments.
I observed this as one of my research examples because a toy/puppet is considered a main character.
I noticed that the title sequence is quite a simple rhyming song, and that the main woman character always addressed the camera as if it was a person or another child as well.
I noticed that there was a lot of child reaction shots during the woman character talking.
There was also a lot of sing songs which the children were familiar with.
Every sequence whether it be with the children or woman character was all in a location and none of it was studio based.
Half of the show was a reflection - chit chat about what the children did for their activity and what they had been up to.
When the children were telling the woman character what they had been up to, it would show previous footage with the child's voiceover telling the story.

By watching this show it has given me ideas and an insight to children's television, and if ours were commissioned Star Smile would probably be a competitor show.
