Production Concept: Changes to Idea

After Pitching our idea to Simon and Helen, we have made a few slight changes to The Drop Shop, as Simon still thought the idea was a bit rough around the edges.
Changes
We have decided to follow through with the idea of the shop being a charity shop instead of a treasure shop. The show would open with opening titles, then we would see the characters opening the shop - maybe singing a song about opening it. After the song is finished, we would see the puppet and the male character go into a room with a chute attached to the ceiling from outside - which means the donator could donate anonymously. They would gather around the chute to see what items are coming into the charity shop that day. They search through the bag and find a particular object which catches their eye. They pick the object out of the bag and the puppet (Suzie at the moment) would say she "recognises the object" and they go over to the bookshelf which is based inside of the Drop Shop, they would then search inside a particular book to find themselves on and inside the pages of the book. After a brief animated sequence they would be in the place where the object is from.
Why
We thought this idea would fit our style of programme because we decided that we would like the puppet character to be a "book worm" as a character trait, and someone who reads a lot of books, and would then recognise the object in question from seeing it inside one of her books on the bookshelf - which links them to the place they travel to.
